Bob Garfield. Predictions vs. Predictions.

I don't think Dove Evolution deserves the 2007 Cannes Grand Prix.

The idea is pretty good, but technically the commercial reminds a lot of videos you can watch in Youtube (just type "Everyday" in the search engine and you will understand what I'm saying).

The real pretender to the Grand Prix could be "Happydent - Palace" for its excellent crafting. The idea perhaps is "old" (we have already seen a lot of tv and print campaigns with light-ening teeth) but expressed in a way we have never seen before. I think this spot is almost perfect. Good direction, good music (Big, big Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan...), good everything.

The alternative is Smooth-E. Mad ideas brought togheter by Thanonchai Sornsriwichai's perfect direction. And Jeh United of course.

I think the Grand Prix this year should come from East.

What about Carlton Draught Flashbeer? I think that gold is enough.
:-)

Leo Burnett Cannes Predictions 2007.
