The Art and Fashion Title Tackles Consumerism with a Hyperactive, Michel Gaubert-Soundtracked Video
“There’s a strong representation of artists who could be described under the popular term ‘post-internet,’” says Garage magazine’s Editorial Director Michael Polsinelli of the riotous visual alchemy running through its seventh issue. Embracing fashion whilst never diluting the value of modern day high art, the biannual invited designers including boy-of-the-moment Jeremy Scott and Olivier Rousteing of Balmain to dream up their own fantasy currency. The result punctuates today's video collage, previewing Garage's debut app and featuring beats by fashion’s sound design maestro, Michel Gaubert. On the occasion of a major Whitney retrospective, the edition also features two transformative covers inspired by Jeff Koons’ sculpture, “Lady Bug.” “The content straddles the physical and digital format, and forms a kind of ‘third space,’” adds Polsinelli of the title, created by Dasha Zhukova in 2011 as an extension of her contemporary art museum in Moscow. “And it’s great to know that we have produced Koons' first virtual sculpture.”

For nearly two years, retired U.S. Navy combat photographer Aaron Ansarov has collected and photographed man-of-wars that wash up on a local Florida beach.
