The Japanese siren gets lost in Takcom's digital playground
From the idyllic southern prefecture of Aichi, Japan, Noah’s dreamscape R&B sees the vocalist and composer draw inspiration from both her snowcapped, ethereal hometown and contemporary electronics. “Flaw” contrasts Noah’s luna sound with director Takcom’s jarring deus ex machina in the form of a ghostly dancer amid shimmering landscapes. Takcom, aka Takafumi Tsuchiya’s, digital alchemy connects the dots between his varied collaborators, from avant-garde cult artist Daito Manabe through to the hyper J-pop of Perfume, one of Japan’s most internationally successful girl bands.
