Un piccolo off-topic per esaltare le potenzialità del montaggio, dopo il bronzo a Cannes preso l’anno scorso da Smirnoff per lo spot Love. Uno spot che secondo me meritava di più.
Dal 2001 AICE (The Association of Independent Creative Editors) ogni anno indice un concorso - Trailer Park - dedicato a tutti gli assistenti al montaggio per scovare nuovi talenti.
Nel 2005 hanno chiesto di trasformare un film horror in una commedia sentimentale. E hanno trovato un genio: Robert Ryang, editor-assistent della P.S.260, che trasforma Shining in un capolavoro di cui Stanley Kubrick sarebbe orgoglioso.
La popolarità di Robert dopo il trailer è cresciuta così tanto che è stato contattato anche dal New York Times.
