The 2014 FIFA World Cup™ in Brazil is approaching fast. The FIFA World Cup™ isn't just about one country though; it truly is the World's Cup! To celebrate fans of the greatest football event on Earth, FIFA & Coca-Cola are taking the FIFA World Cup™ Trophy on a tour around the world.
As one of the most recognized sports symbols in the world and a priceless icon, the FIFA World Cup™ Trophy can only be touched and held by a very select group of people that includes former winners and Heads of State. In 2014, Coca-Cola and FIFA look to change that for a few deserving fans.
Ricardo Steinmetz Alves lost his sight at the age of 6. As a child his love for football and the FIFA World Cup™ was strong, and he refused to allow his blindness to stop him from chasing his dreams. With years of training and dedication Ricardo achieved his dream and joined the Brazil national Paralympics 5-a-side blind football team. In 2012 Ricardo lead his team to a London Paralympics gold medal!
Watch as Ricardo and his teammates have a once in a lifetime moment with the FIFA World Cup™ Trophy.
The FIFA World Cup™ Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola will both start and end at the location of this year's FIFA World Cup™, Brazil. The 2013-2014 tour will feature 88 countries during the 267-day trip.
